For instance, a makeup brand might use TikTok to showcase new products, interact with followers through videos, and partner with influencers for sponsored posts.

    To reach users on mobile devices, social media marketers employ tactics like creating content that is easy to view on phones, using geotargeting to reach people based on where they are, optimizing ads for mobile screens, and incorporating features like hashtags and location tags to attract mobile users. Moreover, platforms often offer tools for marketers to analyze user actions and adjust their strategies to effectively engage with mobile audiences.

    Example: Airbnb Supporting Ukrainians
    One inspiring example of social media marketing is Airbnb’s response during the 2022 conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Here’s what they did right:

    Cause Support: After accommodating thousands of COVID-19 responders in 2020, Airbnb extended free, short-term housing to 100,000 refugees fleeing Ukraine via the Airbnb.org Refugee Fund. They connected with other displaced groups from Afghanistan, Syria, and Venezuela to provide temporary homes through Airbnb.org partners.
